The Atlas Storm

So it snowed here a couple of months ago. Many people didn’t hear about it but it was actually a huge deal. I’ve been hearing since August that it is going to be a long hard winter according to the Farmers Almanac I suppose mother nature just decided to get an early start.

We survived 3 days with no electricity. We ate well and stayed warm. We decided that we needed a bigger lantern (check) and some more back up water and we will be extremely comfy next go around.

It could have been so much worse for us. Other families went a week or more without electricity, trees were down all over the place, people were trapped in their cars overnight and ranchers lost thousands of cattle. I heard a story later from a woman whose friend went into labor during the storm and the national guard had to come and get her, pretty awesome if you ask me.

Here are the photos I took on Friday and Saturday. We finally got out late Monday afternoon, pretty good storm for only October.

Here’s the driveway, those bushes on the left are about 8ft tall normally.

The truck was running only for phone charging reasons
