This week I took Harper on a date. We went to the bookstore, to get him a hair cut and then to his first movie at a theater. At the bookstore I offered to buy him any book that wasn’t in the shape of a vehicle, the only one he really picked up was a tractor. While the haircut went fine, I think I will venture into attempting to cut his hair from now on- and I mean cut it not just buzz it.
The movie. The movie started off promising. We watched the previews, were entertained by the short film, ate our popcorn, I even let Harper try my sprite, he did show concern when they turned off the lights and offered to turn them back on. By about the third song Harper was getting antsy. He told me he had to go potty so we went in the nasty cinema bathrooms. Back in the theater while walking to our seats he dove to the blue runway to show me the lights I got him to our seat somehow only to ask him if he wanted to go home. He did, and while I got our stuff together he ran down the ramp and tried to leave out the emergency exit. I was laughing the entire way out. It was just so him.
And we have baby Willem. This week he mastered crawling over the gate (when opened).
These are the highlights of what I made this week. The easiest and best turned out bread I’ve ever made and I’m making a scoby for kombucha. The kombucha is an experiment. I’ll update as I go, but that with the wine makes for a lot of fermenting going on in my house.
Not pictured from this week: Harper’s bed getting off the floor and onto a frame, the failing of poop-potty training, and Willem’s (almost) 6 month appointment.
